この度、ワールドラグビーアワード2022においてコベルコ神戸スティーラーズ メンターのウェイン・スミスが最優秀コーチ賞を受賞しましたことをお知らせします。

Kia ora everyone!
As always, I feel pretty uncomfortable accepting this award given the quality of the other coaches that were nominated but also really honored to accept it on behalf of the Black ferns. You know we started 8 months ago together and at the start it was a wee bit like taking a granddaughter and all her best friends to Disneyland. They were excited, joyful, noisy and then they all found the courage to hop on the roller coaster. That roller coaster was our attacking game, our all-out attack. So the girls turned into Wahine Toa – Warriors. And the Wahine Toa are magnificent. So, on their behalf, that of my co coaches and our staff, I thank you very much for the award

 

皆さん、キアオラ！
いつも思うのですが、これだけの洗練された面々の中で自分なのかというある種の居心地の悪さを感じると同時にブラックフェーンズを代表してこの賞を頂けることを非常に光栄に思います。８ヶ月前に合流した当初は、自分の孫娘とその親友達をディズニーランドに連れて行くような感覚でした。わくわくと楽しげで騒々しく、そしてジェットコースターにも乗り込める勇気に気付いたのです。そのジェットコースターというのは私たちのアタッキングスタイル、総力を挙げたアタックのこと。かくしてその少女達はWahine Toa – 戦士となったのです。 そしてそのWahine Toa達は見事な結果を残しました。コーチ陣、スタッフを代表して、この賞を頂けたことにお礼を申し上げたいと思います。
